The  Château of La Béroje

A very old family estate where the viticulture and production of Armagnac have been attested since centuries.

The terroir of La Béroje, located on the border of Gers and Landes, very west of the Bas appellation Armagnac benefits from exceptional geological and climatic conditions: boulbènes and tawny sands, sweetness and oceanic humidity which give the eaux-de-vie very characteristic aromas of fruitstewed and a lovely softness.

The wines of Baco especially and Ugni Blanc are vinified on site, without any addition. Distillation is done in the old way from autumn, according to the Armagnac tradition of simple heatingin a pure copper still (the same since the 1940s!).

The aging of Armagnacs takes place in barrels in old cellars conducive to gentle maturation. brandies. Natural aging over the long term: it is only beyond 20 years of age that the vintage armagnacs are offered for sale (1998 for the youngest).

Specializing in old Armagnacs, La Béroje offers a wide range of vintages, from 1946 (holding all vintages from 1966 to the present day). Bottling is done on site as and when required some orders.

On the palate these fruit flavors unfold, particularly mirabelle plum and also dried fruit, hazelnut in particular. A supple and unctuous Armagnac with pastry notes (slightly reminiscent of tiramisu with hints of alcohol).A very pleasant brandy typical of Bas Armagnac, rather feminine.
